With over 12 years experience as a Chiropractor, I combine a unique combination of techniques including Applied Kinesiology, Cranials, Neuro Emotional Technique, Neurolink and more, and I hhere have been many steps in my life that took me along the path to become a Chiropractor. Growing up with German parents, I had a great exposure to the philosophy of using natural remedies such as teas, herbal remedies, and even poultices to help us get over illnesses and conditions, before resorting to medications. A philosophy that is very much based on supporting your body to heal itself. This was then nurtured further when my 5th class teacher introduced us to Reflexology. The practice of using your hands to help someone feel better was something I was immediately drawn to. I practiced this on my family, and this then progressed to me massaging them for different pains. I soon realised I could have a significant impact on them and their symptoms with some basic techniques.
Since then, every choice I made regarding my studies was guided by this philosophy. After completing a Masters of Chiropractic in 2000. I have continued studying other techniques that complement each other as well as this philosophy of helping and stimulating the body to heal itself. Many of these techniques are low force and gentle, so together with the traditional chiropractic techniques I can tailor my treatment to the individuals needs and the requirements for the symptoms and the individual case.
I use muscle testing as a diagnostic tool, which allows me to use responses from the body and its nervous system to give me information about what is going wrong with body and how best to correct that. By allowing the body to give me relevant information as to what is happening in the body, I am not making any assumptions as to what I think the body needs.
I use techniques that not only affect the bony structure of the body, but also the muscular system and balance there of, as well as the organ system. The body is a complex structure made of many systems that work very closely and interrelated, so one can not correct imbalances by only addressing one aspect of health. I utilise various techniques to address these symptoms and imbalances, but more importantly addressing the underlying cause of these symptoms. Once the symptoms are improving other techniques can then be used to get the body out of its old pattern of pain and therefore make the body stronger and more stable.
