• Remedial massage is a common form of massage where specific techniques are applied to relieve the body from tight and shortened muscles, addressing postural alignment and biomechanics.
• Chinese remedial (Tuina) is a very similar system that also includes the use of implements such as cupping (suction cups) gua sha (circulation enhancing) and Moxabustion (burning of a mugwort herb warm and improve circulation) in addition to specific massage techniques.
• Sports massage is a remedial massage system that is sports specific, addressing the stains, pains and burdens put upon your body by particular sports.
• Thai massage and Shiatsu (Japan) are both eastern meridian based massage systems both involve the use of knees, elbows and forearms to work deeply into the muscles, combined with stretching techniques to increase mobility and improve posture.
• Swedish massage is an oil based massage that involves repetitive fluid movements that is deeply relaxing and greatly reduces stress.
